“I’ve actually known Mike for close to a decade now, originally through the music scene in the City. When it came time for my wife and I to decide on the details for our ceremony, we both rather instantly, agreed that we wanted Mike to play. Having worked with Mike on some of his past albums and projects, I’ve gained insight to his passion for music and detail and care he puts in to his craft. Mike is a true artist as well as a great human being – the ideal person to enhance our special day.
Mike definitely aims to please and was eager to take on songs to learn for our ceremony. I have full confidence in Mike to handle just about anything I throw his way, so his enthusiasm way just more encouraging and exciting. We asked Mike to play Stevie Wonder’s “Ribbon in the Sky.” He was familiar with the song, but hadn’t ever played it. I think for many, the thought of learning and executing a rendition of any Stevie song may be overwhelming, but Mike did not so much as flinch and took to it immediately. We had a little over a month and I would check in with Mike to see how it was coming, and he always assured me, with much enthusiasm that it was going great – and I was sure.
Fast forward to our wedding day and Mike’s professionalism and care shone through. Long story short, Mike ended up assisting with another set up that I hadn’t originally asked him to, all the while setting up his own rig and gathering himself in time to play for our guests as they were being seated. Mike played beautifully, songs from his repertoire up until the start of the ceremony. He continued with “Is this Love” for the bridal party procession. Neither my wife nor I had previewed what Mike had prepared for “Ribbon in the Sky”, but when it came time, and he belt out those first notes, I could feel a big smile emerge on my face – as well as on those of many of our guests! I had a few family members nod in great pleasure and approval as Mike played on. It was such a memorable moment and perfect accompaniment to seeing my bride-to-be walk down the aisle to.
There’s probably a lot more I can comment on about how great a musician and person Mike is, but I’d suggest you experience it first-hand.”
